Hi, I just need to know if its possible to feed in 5v as high input voltage
to the GPIO module and McASP module configured as input or if a 3.3v regulator
is needed for a c6713. The spec sheets only specify the minimum high input
voltage of 2v and not the maximum..
Thanks,
Frank
GPIO input voltage

Hello Frank,
Don't do it!! Look at the "absolute maximum ratings" on the
datasheet.
Depending on where the +5v is coming from, you can usually do something
fairly simple.
Two diodes and a resistor can be used. Connect the two diodes in
series to +5v. The input is clipped to 3.6v - connect a resistor in
series with the input.
Another choice is an optical coupler.
