Image Compression

I intend to use either C6713 or C6416 for image compression. I am unable to
decide using which of these would be easier. Can any body help ?

C64xx DSP family is TI's recommended solution for image/video processing. Most of
the "action" -- algorithm and source code examples, tech group activity (like this
one), reference designs, MATLAB and Xilinx support, etc -- for video/image processing
involves 64xx, not 67xx.
During peak processing (all mul/acc units busy) the fastest 64xx device (1 GHz 6455)
is about 6 times faster than 6713 (300 MHz).
