hey Rick, are you including the better approximations to arctan() that i sent you a while back? no need to, but i thought i'd ask. sorry that i didn't have much to offer on the IIR filtering. r b-j

Hi R B-J, I don't have my notes nearby, but I don't think I did. Well, I sure appreciate the guidance you gave me. I listed you in the Acknowledgements (along with the other helpful guys) and "all the guys on comp.dsp" are in the Dedication. I've learned a heck of a lot from you guys. I want ya' to know that. that's too bad. for all the effort of doing a division in the first place, the extra cost of one or two more terms in the denominator would sure make that arctan() work better. i guess i'll just have to post it (but i gotta find it).

that's fine and good, Rick. we appreciate being appreciated. but you shoulda included the arctan() with more terms in the denominator. it would make it a lot better. best regrads, r b-j
