I bought the below book with software included but I'm the disk is bad.
 I would like to get in touch with someone who has the source code or
even the author.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, I liked the book.  I thought that the ideas were very well
explained.  That being said, if you're 'very' novice then you might
want a more introductory book explaining the general material of NN.
The book "Neural Network Design" by Beale, Hagan and Demuth is great.
Complex NNs are covered in the Masters book, and not covered anywhere
much else except academic papers even though they are pretty powerful
tools.

It's a very old book. What OS are the programs intended for? MS-DOS?
Windows 3?

I wouldn't be very optimistic about getting the programs to run.
Even if you get a fresh copy of the disk (if the disk is bad, it
might be because the magnetic medium has decayed to become unreadable)
you might not get the programs to run, unless your computer runs
some win95/98 OS or other very old OS.

I can send you the files. Let me know if you like the bin image from
the disk or the installed directory that comes out of it on the hard
drive.

Just need you email address, as I am using google for news and can't
see it.

yes, I just wanted to see the source code, and the disk was unable to
complete the installation.

I was finally able to get a copy from a professor in Ireland.
