power spectrum OFDM with and without cyclic prefix

Started by awi June 20, 2007
Dear all,

I want to know what is the difference of power spectrum of OFDM with
no added cyclic prefix and power spectrum of OFDM with added cyclic
prefix. Please help me to overcome this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,
awi

Should there be a difference. I do not think so. Krishna http://dsplog.blogspot.com

Why is the difference? Cyclic prefix is just the copying a portion of the symbol. Any pointers might be helpful. Krishna http://dsplog.blogspot.com

What would substitute for the CP if it's not there? Dead time or just eliminate the CP and butt the symbols up against each other? It'll make a difference... Eric Jacobsen Minister of Algorithms Abineau Communications http://www.ericjacobsen.org

Satisfactory solution of this problem may require that the students consider the relationship between the Fourier series and the Fourier transform, and to consider deeply what Eric said above ;-). Julius
