Hi, I am looking for an Deconvolution algorithm to restore an image by deconvolution of image data and its known/modeled PSF. Which algorithm is best suited for this? Is it available on the net. Regards, Satish

Hi Satish, There are a many algorithms available. The 'best' algorithm depends on your needs and resources. Basically if you are willing to spend more processing time and memory you can get better deconvolution results. Simplest algorithm I know is called 'nearest neighbor deconvolution'; used commonly and gives good results. A little more complicated is 'truncated inverse filter' this is a linear non-iterative approach. The best results seem to be obtained with more complicated iterative algorithms like 'maximum likelihood estimation'. I will try to dig up some references for these. One good book is Digital Image Processing by Gonzalez and Wintz. I have the 2nd edition and it has a well written chapter on image restoration, (=deconvolution).
