Hi!
I am new to the subject. Could anyone tell me how to simulate an echo canceller?
I mean, if I want to develop a new device, what software tools can I use to
model it before it is implemented in hardware, say, on the DSP. Is it possible
to use Matlab or other software for that purpose?

Hi stas,
you should know adaptive signal processing for this. In my opinion you better study RTDSP by kou and lee I think he has given code also, after that you can add/manipulate some other algorithms. he explained lot of algorithms like LMS,NLMS,......

The best way is to use Matlab, try to research on the
filter Manjunath recommends, and research the work
Prof. Widrow did on Neural Networks as well, just to
understand the problem better. Matlab had a nice Real
Time workshop example with an Airplane Echo canceler,
that is really visual and will allow you to see the
concept right away. Get ready to read VOLUMES and to
have to fight with computational problems like crazy.
