Hi all.
I have a three DSP56303 system interconected by a JTAG daisy chain. Also, I
have attached to the first DSP the parallel port command converter (the one
with two 74xx244), that translates voltage from 5V TTL
in the paralell port of a host computer to 3.3V CMOS levels on
the DSP signals for JTAG.
I need to know if with this configuration I can download a code
to the DSP I want (any of the three).
And I also want to know if that parallel port command converter is
compatible with Suite56 tools. I guess it is, but I just don't know what I have
to do to make it work.
thanks

Hernan, If the daisy chain is connected properly you can communicate with any of the three DSPs individually using Suite56. And yes Suite56 (ver. 6.3 and higher) was designed to work with the Parallel Port Command Converter... -- dB --- Hernan Dario Herrera <> wrote: > Hi all. > > I have a three DSP56303 system interconected by a JTAG daisy chain. > Also, I have attached to the first DSP the parallel port command > converter (the one with two 74xx244), that translates voltage from 5V > TTL in the paralell port of a host computer to 3.3V CMOS levels on > the DSP signals for JTAG. > > I need to know if with this configuration I can download a code to > the DSP I want (any of the three). > And I also want to know if that parallel port command converter is > compatible with Suite56 tools. The daisy chain is set up like this. All TMS conected to one
common TMS, all TCK conected to one common TCK. all TRST conected to one
common TRST. TDO conected to the TDI of the next DSP, so the TDI of the first
DSP and the TDO of the last DSP are conected to the Parallel Port Command
Converter.
ok. but how can I do to download code to the DSP? where can I find
information about this?? I already check the Suite56 manuals and the only thing
they say is that is compatible. but it doesn't say anything about configuring
stuff, or if the parallel command converter server is what I need. I find
other docs that say the parallel command converter is used to do this and that.
but they don't explain how either.
if anyone knows ahow to configure things in Suite56 to interact with the
system, Id apreciate it.

Hernan, Command Converter Server has nothing to do with a device chain. It allows multiple machines to debug through a single host machine via TCP/IP. It's also a required component in recent versions of Suite56 (i.e. the debugger will not work without it running). Section 7 of the ADS User's Manual describes how to configure each device in the chain and how to control which device you are debugging... -- dB --- Hernan Dario Herrera <> wrote: > The daisy chain is set up like this.
