You might want to look around. This pretty much *is* a private circle. -- Rick

I believe there is a rational answer to that question. The clue appears within pp. 330-331 of the book by fred harris among the discussion of the impulse response of a CIC filter: "If an observer joined us now and examined only the input and output of this filter she would see zero input and zero output and might conclude that the filter is at rest, a standard attribute of a stable system." Was that a mere nicety or an invitation? What if fred harris expected a female observer to appear out of thin air and join his research for a long time before the opportunity has presented itself? Regards, Evgeny.

It's a private circle except that it's out there to be Googled by anyone. Somewhere between 70 to 90% of my business comes from people doing web searches and finding posts that I've made on USENET -- I generally don't hear so in as many words, but I do often find myself getting paid to do work on projects that are pertinent to topics that I've commented on in the past year or so. So it's about as private as conversing via the letters to the editor column in your local paper. -- Tim Wescott Wescott Design Services http://www.wescottdesign.com

OK, I am sorry, I didn't know it is semiprivate/private. It is a very nice and helpful forum but since you gave us all possibility to comment, then I have to say this topic was a shock and if you make a poll about whether it was sexist - I will vote yes, very much. --------------------------------------- Posted through http://www.DSPRelated.com

comp.dsp isn't private. He was joking, just like the original post. Eric Jacobsen Anchor Hill Communications http://www.anchorhill.com

I wasn't entirely joking, I was making a point that this group is not widely read. But the point of the Google search is significant. Even if few people read these posts on any regular basis, they show up in Google searches and will bring people looking for answers to questions. -- Rick

Rbj, By "shape up" do you mean Randy and I should think like you? And if we don't "shape up" what are you going to do about it? Was the word "boy" really necessary? Your post makes it pretty clear in what regard you hold Randy and me. [-Rick-]

oh no! i like the adolescent ones. but, being a prude, i just cannot deal with any reference to sex or pussy hairs or locomotives or anything combining locomotives and pussies (what an image!) or anything kinky like that. the USENET police should deal harshly with that! -- r b-j rbj@audioimagination.com "Imagination is more important than knowledge."
