I kept my eyes and ears open for any DSP info *from anyone* that might lead to an article. More than once I begged and pleaded to various people to write a manuscript for me. Years ago Greg Berchin mentioned something on comp.dsp about a "trick" of his to design specialized filters. I e-mailed Greg and talked him into writing an article manuscript. He and I worked on that material for a couple of months massaging it into the appropriate form and style for my magazine column. That's how Greg's article came into being.
