Rulph Chassaing's e-book on Digitial Signal Processing and Application with C6713 and C6416 DSk

Started by Dhruba Roy October 21, 2005
Hello,

I bought the above book from Amazon.com (electronic version).
Unfortunately, it did not come with the CDROM example files. I also bought
C6416 DSK and now I want to run the fir example from the book which it
mentions is under DSK6416 dirctory. As I don't have the CD with me I am
unable to get it going. If anyone could provide the directories of CDROM
examples it would help in going through the examples to build on them. I
am just new to this board and thought buying this book would be helpful
for quick understanding of the board. Wish to hear from you for the
pointer or if anyone could mail the directory to me.

Thanks.

Dhruba

Hi Dhruba,

Did you install CCS?

You can find all the code from the book here:

Hello,

Rulph passed away early this year suddenly. I worked
his last 3 books with him and wrote most of the core
examples. If there are questions on the book or code
please feel free to ask me and I may be able to help.
I monitor this C6x groups as well can be contacted
here jgomes@jgom....

Good Luck,
Jay Gomes

Jay--
Thanks for the mail. I really appreciate this effort of yours. I have been seeing s steady increase in people who are looking out for help and request for project files of Chassaing's latest work. I have been concerned about the apathy shown by the publisher on this issue and I have ended up sending the files to selective students who claim that they have bought the e-book but with no link for the code. But there is always the concern of piracy etc. So it might be a good idea for one of Chassaing's assistants like you taking charge of the support for his books.

Thanks again, because I know Chassaing deserves better.

I do agree that piracy is one of the major concerns and those who work hard goes unrewarded. It is so nice of Jay Gomes for providing invalueable support. Right now I have my own predicament, I bought this book from amazon.com but I am unable to produce any evidence. I wrote to them for the accompanying CDROM but ended up with no reply. On the contrary I have found someone to my rescue, the publisher in fact is getting me a copy of the CDROM which hopefully would pull me out of the doldrum (I only came to know this very recently). However, that would take some time. In the meantime still need your able support if anyone can provide.

My present task is to work on Dr. Ralph Chassaing's code to check the Input/Output with my DSK6416 board. For this I am trying to use "Loop_intr.c" code as on page 43 of the book. Now the following include and supporting C files are not available:

1. dsk6416_aic23.h
2. c6416dskinit.h
3. c6416dskinit.c

If I could have them I hope it will make it easier for me do the exercise expeditiously. Please don't make me a victim of e-book and that too from amazon.com.
