Hi all, I would like to know if somebody knows where I can find libraries for image and video compression / decompression for a DSP TMS320C6416, if possible free of charge. I found the IMGLIB library of Texas Instrument, but I do not find concrete examples of use. Is this library enough to make video compression / decompression ?

Hello All, I am new to DSP programming and am experiencing some difficulties implementing filters on a fixed point DSP (TMS320C6416). To keep it simple, I started trying to implement a single pole low pass filter with a corner frequency of 500 Hz while sampling at 96kHz. I have obtained the quantized filter coefficients using Matlab's fdatool. I have then written down type 1 direct fo...

Hello everybody, I'm developing program that will calculate the parameters of image segment, this program will operate on TI TMS320C6416 DSP. For that purpose I'm using routine that is based on Levenberg-Marquardt optimization algorithm. The DSP is fixed point and the variables are floating point of double type, thus I'm using RTS library. I would be very grateful for advice and answers for...

Dear all, I'm new to the DSP programming. I'm using TMS320C6416 DSP. I want to understand the on chip memory layout( i.e. what kind of data located in each memory section such as .bss, .sysmem or heap, .cio, and .cinit) So, can any one explain the difference between these memory sections or at least guide me to a document that explains this issue?? Thanks a lot, Mostafa Halas

Hi, all. In reference design for C6416 provided from TI, the SDRAM (supporting 167MHz) clock frequency is 150 MHz. However, the maximum EMIF frequency is 133 MHz in the datasheet of TMS320C6416 (@720MHz,7E). How is it possible?

Hey, I'm working at one project on TMS320C6416, and I have one strange question.I put a 32bits SDRAM on EMIFA, the high 32bits are not used. When I write to SDRAM in a address, the data in another adrress next 16bytes change all the time. For example, when I write a data in Ox8000 0000, the data in 0x8000 0010 also change. The operation in 0x8000 0010 also effects Ox8000 0000. What's the problem?...

Hello, I am working on a project that compares the performance of FPGA's to DSP kits. I am implementing a 2D 5/3 DWT using both kits. I am using TMS320C6416 DSK and CCS 2.20.04 I have a limited background when it comes to either using the DSK or CCS so please bear with me. I am using mem_alloc in DSP/BIOS to allocate space for the pixels of an image. My program seems to be worki...

Glad to hear you figured it out! Yes, if internal clock exceeds the spec anything can happen -- results are undefined, including internal mem. > I have another board. one tms320c6203,one > sdram(MT48LC4M32B2

Hi everybody, I'm new in DSP world... I have to realize an audio equalizer with the TMS320C6416 DSK or TMS320C6713 DSK (I don't yet choose the board). For the moment I'd like to simulate my algorithm with the simulators provided by code composer studio. I generate my project by using the link for ccs provided by Matlab. My question is: how can I simulate an audio input/output stream? Can I ...

Hello, Our group has got Altera DSP Development Kit, Cyclone II. The whole purpose is to have co-processing with TI DSP via EMIF. The development kit includes "Fast Fourier transform (FFT) coprocessor reference design for Texas Instruments' TMS320C6416 DSK" (http://www.altera.com/products/devkits/altera/kit-dsp-2C70.html), but the problem is that we dont have 320C6416 DSK, but rather have 2 ot...

Hello guys, It looks like the hardware interrupts are being disabled for short periods of time and I don't understand why. The duration of these periods are a few mili-seconds. I know that the HWI can be disabled during loops if you set the opmization level to -o2 or -o3. However, all the files in my project have their optimazation levels either set to -o1 or 'None' so that is n...
